TRAVEL
PLANES, TRAINS & AUTOMOBILES...
We really appreciate our guests making the journey across to France to celebrate with us on our special day. There are several ways in which you can make this journey and so, we have compiled some information below to help you plan your route!
By Air...
All of the French airports listed below are 1h 30m - 1h 45m drive from the château and have the following flight routes:
Bordeaux: Gatwick, Luton, Bristol, Manchester
Bergerac: Edinburgh, Stansted, Bournemouth
Limoges: Stansted, Manchester, East Midlands
Poitiers: Stansted

Flight operators vary, but Ryanair operate most flights with Easyjet & British Airways also handling some routes.
Most flights take up to 2h on average and are reasonable in price when booked in advance.
By Train...
Fear of flying or trying to save the planet? Fear not! You can hop on the train from London:

Train: St Pancras, London > Gare du Nord, Paris (2h 20m)
Transfer: Gare du Nord > Montparnasse, Paris
Train: Gare Montparnasse > Angoulême (2h)

The Eurostar will get you to Paris in under 2h 30m and after a short transfer to Gare Montparnesse, you can hop on a train to Angoulême (2h) and arrive in the heart of the Charente region. Angoulême is a 30m drive to the château and is the main city in the region, making it a great spot to stay in.
By Car...
Whilst being the longest route to take, a drive across to France can be a mini-adventure in itself and something that appeals to a good number of people! With an overnight stop (or two or three!) on the way down, the journey can be broken up quite comfortably, but starts with a drive to your nearest or chosen ferry port.
There are 10 sailing routes between the UK and France or you can hop on the Eurotunnel through to Calais.
Once on French soil, your longest drive (from Calais) will set you back 8 hours, whilst the drive from Saint Malo takes just 5 hours (though it is a longer ferry).
